Has anyone out there tried a Riccar vacuum cleaner?

Question by : Has anyone out there tried a Riccar vacuum cleaner?
The canister vacuum I looked at is very small and only 8 lbs. with a shoulder strap. The salesman told me that it’s the best you can get in a small canister and very powerful. I need something light and easy to use as I’m a senior. All I need it for is hard wood floors, window blinds, and furniture…no carpets. Do you know if it is a good machine or not. Thank you for your help in advance.

I have owned one and have found it to be one of the best ones out there. They usually have a two year warranty. Not too many companies offer a two year warranty. You can check out their internet site and see what they have to say about the vacuums. Good luck.

Who has owned and recommends Electrolux vacuum cleaners?

Question by Creativestylist: Who has owned and recommends Electrolux vacuum cleaners?

Best answer:

Answer by Arbee
I have never had one, but my sister did. It was a way over priced pile of junk, and really not as good as the $ 100.00 vacuum she had before the electrolux, and still has now that she has given the electrolux to the Salvation Army. Silly woman fell for a line of crap some slick door to door salesman laid on her, and regretted it from about the second time she used the electrolux.

What is your vacuum cleaners worst enemy besides neglect? Want to NEVER buy another vacuum filter again?

Question by paulj0557-vacuum cleaner expert: What is your vacuum cleaners worst enemy besides neglect? Want to NEVER buy another vacuum filter again?
Just a couple of the many tips that I have for vacuum cleaners.
So, what’s the clogger king?
HAIRPINS, BOBIPINS!
I service vacuum cleaners and the number one thing I find in the hoses of clogged vacuums are the hairpins that end up lodged sideways there because the spinning brushroller underneath the vacuum separates the pin and everything that follows must somehow travel around the pin. It’s usually a small piece of cardboard, or a matchbook cover.
REMEDY?
Get yourself a magnet and skim the floor first. You can also get a magnetic strip that goes across the front of the vacuum online at any vacuum cleaner parts supplier.
Now, for the filters.
Hepa’s CLOG! FAST! The vacuum cleaner manufactures know this and they screw you out of your money. PERIOD!
Hoover uses ELECTROSTATIC MEDIA to make their filters. So you know what they do. 99.97%…
SO DO THESE:
A TEN PACK OF 4″ X 11″ ELECTROSTATIC REGISTER VENT FILTERS- cut-STACK-glue
COST?
$ 2.79
where? Lowe’s in the furnace filter section.
Thank You!

Now as far as the long blond hair? If you get a carpet rake available at an online store called Hesco ( at hescoinc.c..) they happen to have a very nice carpet rake that has a cool “icee” blue 18″ wide plastic front with several flexible metal tines and a wooden handle. I get their catalogs and this rake is on their “big savings type page” I think it is around $ 15-$ 16. These rakes work great to pick up hair and other small fuzzy build, especially from brand new carpet. In the end it will save your vacuum cleaner too.
While I’m here I’ll also mention the best ways to clean your carpet.
(the Kirby owner will like this)
The BEST way to MAINTAIN a carpet is with a Kirby shampoo set-up on a Kirby vacuum cleaner. If it’s very dirty,I clean carpet for a living & use a big heavy SPIN-BONNET cleaner (looks like a buffer- BONNETS are “SLOWSPEED” machines, where as buffers are typically “HIGHSPEED”.
For the BEST CLEAN always call a company that 1st Bonnets THEN Extracts

Q&A: opinions of Bissell 3920 Pet Hair Eraser Dual-Cyclonic Upright Vacuum Cleaner?

Question by halfpintrn: opinions of Bissell 3920 Pet Hair Eraser Dual-Cyclonic Upright Vacuum Cleaner?
We are shopping for a new vacuum and with a cat and 2 dogs we are tired of our crawling baby getting covered in dog hair even after we vacuum! The Bissell Pet Hair Eraser was highest rated for pet hair removal on several consumer pick-lists, but after reading reviews I saw many complained of it breaking down after only a few months and getting easily clogged. What has been your experience? Anyone have a vacuum they love for pet hair removal? (SORRY – can’t afford a Dyson)
Thanks!

Answer by Jenny C
Hi, A friend who has pets and kids bought a Eureka boss smart vac ultra 4870 and she loves it. She said it was recommended by consumer reports magazine and rated right up there with higher priced vacuums. It outperformed the Dyson animal. It was priced around 150.00 and really cleans carpets and bare floors with the flick of a switch. Has hepa filtration for allergies, 8 carpet settings, convenient tools and ability to control suction when using tools. Eureka also rated in the top two for the fewest repairs. http://www.byvacuumcleaners.com/Eureka-boss-smart-vac-ultra.html
The Kenmore progressive also rated highly for pet hair but is more expensive. http://www.byvacuumcleaners.com/best-upright-vacuum-for-pet-hair.html You can check out consumer reports magazine online or for free at your local library. Hope this helps.

Is Michael Graves the James Dyson of Healthcare?
Hoover and other manufacturers were scared to death of killing the lucrative vacuum cleaner bag market in the UK. Shortsighted? Yes. A stymie to their own innovation? Yes. Did that stop Dyson? Thankfully, no. The rest is history.
