They’re out there, but be prepared to spend a bit of money to get one. I have a Ghibli shop-vac style one that’s quiet enough that you can stand beside it while it’s running and talk to someone. I just googled “quiet vacuum cleaners” and came up with a few choices. Hard to say what’s available in your area. I’d go to local vacuum repair/sales places and ask what they have that’s quiet. Look for the decibel rating on any vacuum you look at. If it doesn’t give one, it won’t be quiet because anyone who makes a quiet vacuum will want people to know exactly how quiet it is. Can’t promise that even the quietest one won’t upset the cat. There’s something about vacuum cleaners that most pets don’t like.

Some canisters vacs are good, but you will pay for a good one. On a canister, the motor is away from the dirt, you have to rely on suction, which will eventually fade as time goes by.

As for an upright, the motor is on the head or closer to the dirt. When you have a motor on the head, you have a better suction, for a longer time, plus the motor will help vibrate the dirt in the carpet.

idk where to find them on-line, I always go to sears, or buy a Kirby from a salesman. If you want the best canister, buy a Filter Queen or a Rainbow. If you want the best upright buy a Kirby or a Dysonex (check spelling)

I have a hand held Dirt Devil, not sure of the model number, to my dissmay I discovered after I bought it that it is not belt driven, but air driven, are you sure you have the belt driven model?

Hello

Are hand held vacuum cleaners made using this process?

If not injection molding, then what other process, also if it is injection molding then what other processes can be used to manufacture the handle as well.

Yes, hand held vacuum cleaner handles are made using injection molding. You could also use cast molding, but it would be slower and more expensive. IT might bepossible to use vacuum forming to produce the handle halves, but the cosmetics would be poorer as would the mehcanical properties of the handle so produced.

I think Eureka’s are junk. I wouldn’t buy it. I’d save up my money a little more and buy a Dyson. I’ve had my Dyson for over 4 years and have only had one problem with it, when I sucked up drywall dust. After replacing the filter I’m as happy as a lark with it again. After 2 years, you’re going to be buying another vacuum again. Eureka’s are junk, I highly recommend the Dyson.
